senkrechtes Blech in Ölwanne

In meiner Ölwanne ist am hinteren Ende dieses senkrechte Blech verbogen. Wofür ist das Blech eigentlich gut? Im Haynes z.B. gibt es das auf den Zeichnungen nicht. Mein Motor hat wieder mal beschlossen eine Anlaufscheibe zu "verbrauchen". Den Kupfer(farbenen)-Abrieb davon finde ich hauptsächlich zwischen diesem Blech und der Dichtfläche der Ölwanne...

jetzt hab ichs glaub ich doch selber noch gefunden :

"... I have found the root cause to my issues. End float caused my crankshaft to get caught up with the splash guard on the rear of the oil pan.. I had missed some real big clues durning my inspections one being the chewed up splash guard.When I checked it for end float I had the oil pan on and it was good but with the pan off eureka! I had wiped the pan clean and inspected the oil I just never inspected the oil pan itself and it was right there the whole time. I guess I am a victim of the floppy crank..."

Das Blech ist also wohl ein "splash guard". Ich denke es schützt die Kurbelwellendichtung vor allzuviel Ölnebel (?). Auf jeden Fall könnte wohl die Beschädigung die ich an dem Belch sehe auch von meiner Kurbelwelle kommen die sich da rein "gefloated" hat; sowas...
